Contemporary Peruvian Bistro

Peruvian cuisine draws from an ancient cultural history of trade and native tradition based on ingredients and customs spanning vastly contrasting geographical zones - the Pacific Coast, the Andes Mountains, and the Amazon Jungle.  Marked by a variety, complexity, and sophistication of its dishes dating back to the Spanish conquest of Peru during the early 16th century, Peruvian cuisine is one of the world's original fusion cuisines, combining Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, African, Italian, and French cuisine with native Inca culinary traditions.  It is our goal at Chicha to bring a taste of authentic Peruvian cuisine to our beautiful city of Alameda. You no longer have to leave the country, or even leave Alameda for that matter, to experience the richness of a unique gastronomic experience that can only be captured by an authentic Peruvian restaurant.

    Music from the Andes

    Music from the Andes

Come and experience the Andes of Peru.  About Bamboo Peru - a Peruvian born of indigenous parents who came from a village in the Andes, where I spent a great part of my childhood. There I learned the customs and traditions of my people. I also learned Quechua, a language that the Incan Empire disseminated throughout all of the Andean region of South America.
It was in the Quechuan language that I heard my grandmother recount myths and historical stories from our ancestors. These stories reflected the perspectives on life of the people who cradled me in my infancy and whom I fondly remember, sadly miss, and greatly love.
For this reason, I wish to share with you some of the sentiments of my people through my compositions inspired by the Peruvian Andes.
